Default eg civic hatch quarter panel change..

hey, i have a milano red 92 civic vx and i need the quarter panels changed,

the bad is the drivers quarter is a little beat up and dented, so i need the quarter panel from the back of the door all the way to the tail light from the rocker panel to about 4 inches from the window all the way down and on the passenger side i have a bit of rust in the quarter and and in the rocker panel, no dents really on this side.. other than that the rest of the car is pretty sweet.. so i would like to see what my options are.. on getting some work done.. maybe at the same time i can shave the mouldings.. but i am on somewhat of a budget, and maybe i can get one piece fixed at a time, but who knows, maybe someone can do it all for a half decent price.

    thanks,
I just wish i new how to do bodywork, i can change my motor and fix the rest of the car but the body..

That's going to be a pretty big job. Replacing the rear quarter is going to involve some cutting and welding...

To change your left 1/4 panel would be approx $2000.

    $800 for a new 1/4.

    18 hours of labour.

Materials and shop supplies on top of that.

Unfortunatly on civics the quarter panel wraps all the way around to the front of the car by the windsheild. Its a big job to do.

If your on a budget, well, theres really no way to do this job CHEAP.

I suggest you just fix the current panel. Go get an older but still good shape panel that will fit, get the old rusty peices cut out and weld in new peices. Pull dents, finsish and paint.

you can buy just the rear quarters from Honda.
Then get a body shop to cut and weld it in.
I think it'll be a pretty pricey venture though.
