What is the post count to "Switch Gears"?

I dunno i think its PPD (posts per day) becuase was first gear and then i got droped down 2 neutral becuas ei didn't post for a while

I think it's total posts....
My post count has been between 2.5 and 2.7 since I first joined, and my gears keeps going up.
Some of the people in here have a post per day of like 10, and they're still in Neutral.

Also posting in some sections don't increase your post count either. I believe that's everything the "Other Stuff" catagory, except this section.

The "gears" are based on actual post count, not the post per day total. The post per day system was implemented to discourage post whoring. You can however still view your post totals by going to your profile.

Ex.
gpomp = 1.74 ppd = second gear
r-audi = 1.77 ppd = first gear

Of course, the "gear" system was highly highly inspired by s2000international forums! hehe.
