    Default Brake caliper rebuild shops?

    I need to get my calipers rebuilt are there any reputable shops that people have used before?

    i dont want to do it myself because i dont have time and i want them sandblasted and cleaned properly....

    Buy rebuilt calipers and turn your old ones in as a core.

    I don't think there are any shops in town that will do it. It makes next to no money. The only way to profit from rebuilding calipers is by large volumes.....the only large volumes you see are in factories.

    It's not something a mechanic does every day anyways. If you talked a mechanic into rebuilding them, I can sure as hell guarantee you he won't bead blast them.....won't even wire brush them. if you talked him into bead blasting them, the cost of rebuilding them and bead blasting them would make it more expensive than buying rebuilt calipers from the store.

    If you bought rebuilt calipers, they should be bare steel already....probably coated with a thin film of oil to prevent corrosion. Just spray with brakeclean to get that oil off, and you should be good to go with painting them.

    I thought of doing that as well but i have heard a lot of bad stories about getting crappy rebuilds. oh well its cheap anyways so i might as well give it a shot.
