I like the smokes, but I am happy I don't have to come home smelling like smoke anymore.

Care to elaborate?
I think he's refering to the proposed change to ban smoking Jan 1 2007
Smoking in all public places will be banned on this proposed change.
Does this only apply to cigarettes? Can you smoke other stuff in public?
Someday we may need to activate the halo structure off Deerfoot and destroy the North East.
woohoo I can finailly enjoy the bars
Same question... cigars and such?Originally posted by ga16i

Is this 100% forsure now or still up in the air as to when it starts?
Public Places as in anywhere in the public area outside your home or is walking around/out back at work still ok?
About time!
I thought it was already banned in public places?
^^ In a few cities such as Edmonton, but not yet in Calgary.
What about Cafe Med' and Ice?

Exactly, on occasion I like to enjoy my sheesha outside. Think that smoking ban needs to be clarified with some specifics, like what if I wanted to smoke chicken bones or something.Originally posted by arian_ma

I'm for the bylaw, but I know Cafe Med was trying to get exempt. If not, they should build a patio. (in Manitoba you can smoke on patios, not indoors, here, you can't smoke indoors where it is most hazardous to our health, but you can outside where there is natural ventilation? Makes no sense) to the bylaw tho.
