Sorry rules were updated improperly today.

    The new rules indicate:

    V8less Class
    - Must have DOT approved radial street tires
    - No engine limitations
    - One power adder
    - Cars must have mufflers. All exhaust gases must pass through the muffler and exit behind the driver’s seat
    - Race fuel, pump gas or alcohol permitted

Regarding the 4 cyl Ford Mustang - that will be in the V8less Class.

We have been doing a poll on my site as to whether or not carbed vehicles should be allowed and so far its looking like most want carbed cars allowed.

    See here http://www.performance-shop.com/yabb...?topic=38405.0

Who all on this site is competing in the Outlaw class?

As 89coupe mentioned, the Outlaw class is still under evaluation.

Markis, I really think that all V6's should be able to run in the V8Less class with less than 1 power adder.

We have heat in Calgary?? Where? When did this happen? Oct is going to be ugly.. If there isn't snow on the ground i'll be surprised..

Density altitude in July - August is usually in the 5000+ft range. It should be way lower than that in October. It makes a bit of difference on times for sure.

yah but traction suffers the colder it is.. And if there are no slicks allowed, how do you think DOT approved tires are going to hook when it's -15c out?

Are they gonna have a half decent announcer this year? Last years announcer was a little weak....someone with enthusiam to keep the crowd entertained and interested would really help.

As well if they time the events better it would be good to watch one event fully and then move onto the other....the running back and forth from Autocross to Drag kinda sucked cause you would end up missing one or the other.

I don't know if that is possible but would really make for a great overall show.

I'm amazed that you know it's going to be -15.

    Oct 7 - Calgary
    2005 - TEMP : 15.8 °C
    2004 - TEMP : 17.6 °C
    2003 - TEMP : 21.7 °C

That's pretty ideal conditions for drag racers.

Thanks for the feedback - I've worked with many announcers before and I have to say, Tien is one of the more enthusiastic announcers we've had. Having said that, I think your second point regarding the timing of events is something we can do better with and will impact the excitement that our Announcer can generate. I think they are related and is the responsibility of mine to ensure occurs effectively.

Is the autox (solo2) in calgary going to be on the oval or on the south end of the road course? I just want to know because I can't clear the infield/oval transitions with the front bumper, so if it's on the oval I won't be attending.

^^^ I fully agree....it would be difficult to voice on two events simultaneously. I think its a great show and want to see motorsports continue in this city and even become more than they are. All the best in planning and we'll everyone in October.

Tien was awesome last year. knew what he was talking about sounded enthousiastic and all. I would gladly have him again this year. Much better than having some old fart call a sentra a civic or a civic an srt-4.

or even say the word souuubaroooooooooo and hayaaaaaaabuuusssaaa

(people who go to secret streets will understand this one)

Sorry, the autocross is held in the Oval. The specators otherwise would not be able to view it.
