So, I'm hearing it's called "The Personal" now and it's a branch of Desjardins.
Worst name ever. Any other details?

I just got a quote through them and compared it to my Coseco (my employer's group plan) renewal. ~$650 cheaper per year on two cars, and ~$150 more per year on the house. for a net decrease of $500 with The Personal.

Basically the same coverage, and upped legal liability from $1mm to $2mm on the house policy.

    I'm probably gonna switch over.

How could apega go through desjardin after they publically announced they wouldn't fund oil sands or pipeline projects

Because APEGA is horrendously mismanaged and inept?

It’s borderline comical how out of touch that organization is.

I like the cell phone plan. I also don’t hate TD Insurrance as much as everyone else on beyond, haven’t ever had anyone offer me better pricing and their service has always been good.

Will agree that as a professional association they are an inconvenience at best.
Yeah the cellphone plan is pretty good, I have 4 lines on it right now. Bill has always been able to beat the TDMM APEGA quotes though.

They did?!? What a steaming pile of hypocrisy!
They are the group benefits provider for the largest employer of engineers in Alberta and now adding on their professional association. Seems legit.

I stuck around with TD and just got a call last week that saw me get some pretty substantial savings on my 2 cars + house.

They called you out of the blue and said they would give you discounts if you stuck with them?

I added a vehicle and they called back the following week reducing the initial quote on that vehicle and reduced the other vehicle as well.

Was probably getting screwed before but very happy now.

Just got my renewals today from TDMM and hit with a 10% jump. No house claims and no at fault vehicle claims (my wife gets rear ended once every year or two).

A former member is going on a TIRADE on the APEGA LinkedIn page, right now.

Might want to check it out for drama points.
