Default Body Repair Shop(s) - Opinion please

So I recently came across this site after I buggered up my civic on a concrete pillar, ouch. Anyway I took many of your recommendations and went to three Body Shops for a quote, Contemporary, Calgary Honda, and National. All three use the Mitchell Estimating System, 2 quotes were within 200 bucks and National was like 900 bucks less. Not wanting to choose based on price alone what is everyone's opinion on National?

    Cheers!

All quotes should be closer than that if they are estimating the same repair.

I don't think those estimates are for exactly the same repair.

Look at the repair lines/items and compare.

The total labour hours should be close to the same. You might find that there is something missed between the estimates.

A $900 difference between sheets is quite large.

Just stay away from SOS auto body they have no clue what quality work is. I have 2 friends who have been there both have had to go back more than once to get stuff fixed that should have been done right the first time. The shop foreman is a complete tool and the owner is a even bigger tool.

The mechanical shop next door is a part of SOS but the guys that work over there seemed to be fair, not at all like SOS.

National does good work, but they take a long time! My car is there right now being repainted, but it's been almost 3 months!!! For the price their work is good, but don't be in any rush! My friend and I have both used them in the past with the same slow results!

As far as the price, check the lists on the quotes it's likely that the national quote does not include a few things the others do.

Personally if you want to stay away from the BIG shops but still have the same quality work. I would go to D&T Autobody over by JDM. They did an awesome job of my Talon and quite reasonable.
