    Default New Tire Deal

    Hi all,

I've made a deal with a local supplier who's trying to promote a new performance tire. It called an Aurora K103 and made by Hankook. Very similar in tread pattern to the Kumho 712. They've agreed to sell me 5 sets below cost. My markup will only be 3% to cover credit card charges plus normal installation charges. In return for the pricing they request a written evalutation to this forum and myself for these tires. I have one set sold and 2 pending. However it's a first come first serve basis. From one reliable source, for those of you who know Reijo Silvennoinen, a local experienced racer, I've heard he has a very positive reaction regarding his tires. I'm waiting for him to get back to me officially.

I'm also putting together a group buy for Kumho V700 and V70A R compund racing tires. I'm planning to put the order in later this week. I need to know as soon as possible on these as well.

    Thanks

These tires are not available in those sizes. Let me know what brand or pricing you're looking for and I can give you pricing

I have a number of of ones in that size. If you're looking for price then I have one made by continental with a 130,000 kilometer rating for $63.54 or a Cordovan Ultrex for $66.88 which has a 100,000 km mileage warranty with road hazard warranty included.
My personal recommendation is a Kumho 716 for $72.97, it's a very highly rated tire and also H speed rated to boot. It's rated for 80,000 km.

The Kumho I'd be interested in, let me do some more research and let you know. Thanks.

Alright, I took a look. What do you have that's a little more performance oriented in that size?

Looking for either 215/45/17 or 225/40/18 (or close match)
No particular brand preference, I'm not doing any auto-x or anything on these tires, but would still like decent traction (drag race) and tread wear.

Don't care about noise or comfort really.

There's a tire called the Sigma HP for $73.15 (http://www.sigmatires.com/performance/hp/index.html). There are a number of brand name tires also. You should visit www.tirerack.com and look at all in your size and you can decide which characteristics in a tire are important to you. I can get most of what tire rack has.

The Aurora K103 is more a handling tire than a drag tire. BFG makes a couple of street drag radials but tire wear will be an issue. My suggestion would be to go for the Kumho 711's. Perhaps other members can respond with their experience on tires that may fit the bill. Price on the 711 - 215/45/17 is $117.66. the 711's don't come in the 18" size but the 712's do - $179.52

I should have mentioned I don't really want drag tires...haha..just that's the most I'd be doing with the tires.

How much for the 712's in the 215/45/17?

If I bring my rims in, will mount and balance be included in that price?
