Well there is a "who's going to Sait" thread so I figure why not start a "who's going to MRC".
After a couple of years at the U of C of doing comp-sci, Im taking my first year of Computer Infomation Systems and Business (CIS).

MRC is the best damn post secondary institution in the city. Why? The Ladies!!! There are soo many hotties runnin all over campus, you'll love it.

While ive heard many good things in that regard im not sure how many girls let alone hot ones will be in my program, CIS. I think my chances are slim at best...
some reason you only see them at the beginning of the semster, then you never see most of them againOriginally posted by slickk

first year comp-sci university transfer ... should i get a laptop? ... also is there drop-in basketball during school the day?
All I have to say is hope you enjoy programming 8P .... Personally I dont think you will need a laptop, I know the U of C has alot of workstations that you can do your work on, specifcally for comp sci students, sure same thing goes of mrc, the only reason you may want a laptop is to type notes, or do things during lecture, I think its more of a destraction then anything else...Originally posted by beecue

I've noticed that many Comp Sci students have laptops so it might not be a bad idea to get one. Although most of the ones that have one seem to only play games during class. There are a lot of labs open for Comp Sci students though like stated.

I ussually try to get around using textbooks, most the time the public library has a copy. For some classes you buy the textbook and its not even used, but if I need one I will definatly give you a shout..Originally posted by Darkane

yea I'm in CIS too, this is gonna be my third year and there are NO hot girls in CIS classes hahaha. For the arts and science requirements just take shit like gym, romance studies, psychology, etc and there will be plenty of hot girls to mack on.
Do you like the program? And think you'll be able to find a decent paying job after grad? (sorry for thread hijack) Just wondering because I think that i'm probably going to take that course if I don't get in to uofc.Originally posted by Chester

Taking 2nd year Engineering @ MRC. Another reason why MRC is good is cause our gym/computer facilities beat UC by alot...most likely because we have nothing to spend our money on...and our teachers suck/get paid bad haha.
I think going to MRC was a good choice. I'm sure you won't regret it!
The only thing i don't understand about Calgary though; is the fact that there are so many barriers for MRC in its presuit to obtaining a University status. Following the basic logic haveing two Universities in one city is better, due to the simple fact that there will be some competition going. However, it seems like U of C stands like a concrete wall, representing the ultimate educational facility in Calgary.
P.S. I'm not against U of C , I'm for variety!
ya MRC!
Working on my second year of Psych, transfering to U of L
