Default fed up with my job, need help!

I'm currently working at Shaw Cable as a Tech Support Rep, and have been for a while. Due to current trends with managment and the organization in general, i am starting to hate the job and no longer want to work there. Does anyone know of a good IT place to work that may hire an A+ certified tech? and how much do they pay?

You could go to convergys as a tech support agent for comcast in the states, I think they got a center in Calgary.

I would suggest against it though, worked for em for 2 years and quit, pay was like 12$/hr.

    shitty management.

guess tech is hiring like mad right now. if you're not too picky and want some cash flow while looking for another job you should go check them out

Doing what you're doing now, and getting paid the same will pretty much only come from Shaw, TELUS, MAYBE Bell, and a few other companies downtown that need helpdesk fools.

When I left telus starting rate was 16 something an hour for helpdesk. Aweful dept tho, and I believe it was closed, haha. Got out at the right time, 4 years was long enough at that joint.

MOST HD type positions I've seen floating around only wanna offer in the 11-14 range. If you had some decent cisco/active directory knowledge you could make a lot more, but if you dont, I'd hold onto what you have and look for openings up the ladder.

Guest-Tek has upper management that steals millions from the company, recently fired 30% of its workers and has really low ceilings as far as salary goes.

If you work there for the next 5+ years, you'll top out at like 42k.
