    Default CanadaPost Gripe:

Having a package shipped ATM, it was shipped out sept 22nd evening. By sept 23rd AM package was in Canada (wow USPS - good job!) Since then, the package has been scanned once, and all it says is 'item is in canada'. Wow, thanks for being so specific. You've had my package for 6 days and it's somewhere in this tiny country of ours. Tried calling the phone number for more information and both their 416 (toronto) and 866 (toll free) phone numbers just produce a busy signal.

2nd situation: Insurance company sends a settlement check for when a cab rear-ended me a few months ago (all they had was my Ottawa address). My mom gets the mail from my old place - forwards it onto me. cheque never arrives. Same thing happened with some bank statements that got forwarded to me - one was even registered mail after the first encounter of missing documents. All CanadaPost would say is that they won't compensate us because the documents had no real value, they just refunded the amount that it cost to send the documents.

And on the off-chance mail does get to me, it's ridiculously slow. I'm sorry but 6 weeks for lettermail - that's beyond incompetent.

USPS slogan is 'through rain sleet or snow.
CanadaPost should be "When all that's left are the cherrysticks"

    I hate Canada Post.
Their idiot drivers smashed up a shipment I made to a customer and a huge chunk of the box I shipped it in was actually missing when it arrived! I even had FRAGILE stickers all over it. It's quite a journey from Calgary to Sicamous.

THEN, when I tried to claim the $500 insurance money I had paid extra for to cover it, it was a nightmare trying to contact the supposed 'claims dept', and after months they simply said "claim declined". I wrote a letter to multiple people at their complaint department and no one ever replied to me.

Canada Post can go straight to hell.

You think thats bad? It took 3 months.. thats 92 days... to ship me a set of 19" rims... from... EDMONTON.

I was so frustrated that I just wanted to drive up and pick them up.. but it was in their "warehouse", and no one except personel were admited into the facility... the real kicker is they were shipped to toronto, then again to ottowa.. then to vancity.. THEN to calgary.

All in all they waived all shipping fee's, but jesus.

Ive had mixed experiences with Canada Post.

Ive shipped things to vancouver express, took 2 days, arrived in tact, and for a good price.

International shipments... I had a shipment from montana... It went to BC, then edmonton, then calgary.

    CP is moody, at best.

it's probably not canada posts's fault, it's probably stuck in customs.

I hate every shipping company except for USPS, they're awesome. But the reason the website says the item is in Canada and hasn't been scanned again is because you then have to go from usps.com to canadapost.com to check the rest of the tracking. I learned this the hard way as well, and I also noticed the progress of the shipment reduced drastically once it entered Canada.

And UPS was just 100X worse.

My post on this topic in this thread...

    http://forums.beyond.ca/showthread.p...ht=canada+post

Canada Post can lick my fuckin sack!

They lost a parcel that I send to BC and it seriously took over 2 months (8 weeks) to get my money back. Their customer service is absolute shit! Every time you call you get a different person that knows less then the last person you talked to. I was ready to strangle someone through the phone.

And dont even get me started on the midget lady at the Midnapore post office in 7-11

I appreaciate the input, but I figured that out already. item still hasn't been scanned. Is it not supposed to scanned everytime it changes hands? That's 5 days it's been 'supposedly' sitting in the same spot.

USPS is the best - I mean 12 hours from pickup at the ebay seller's house to the Canadian border. That's BLAZING quick. It's been 7 days since Canada's had the package and from what I can tell nothing has happened.

That USPS might be worth having a look at.

I just made some shipments through UPS, soooo expensive.

3 x 30lb boxes to the use by surface (the cheapest) to the US= $150

    1 x 30lb box to the US in 3 days = $142

Canada post might be worth their terrible service and unwillingness to back their insurance policy.

I had a remote starter/alarm/combo package shipped from a company in the states. Within one week I could see it on the Canada post tracking system, and then it took three weeks in customs before it got here. They probably saw the wiring harness and sent it to a special department to check if it was bomb parts or something.
