I havent been on one... but they look pretty fun. I usually only ever see them in the fall/winter time... so if you are planning on going up, dress warm.
My sister is a hot air balloon pilot...they can be fun depending on the time of year/weather. The rides can be pricey...I will ask her about what company would be best/prices and post back here.
I bought a flight for my father and I for his birthday about a year ago. How it works is they call you really early in the morning to tell you wether the weather is "good enough" for that day. They have put us off on perfectly mild winded sunny days and said they are unsuitable for just over a year now. I think im just gonna say fuck it and get my money back
^^so you know how to check the forecast upper winds then?
You can redeem your air miles points (1000 points/person) for a baloon ride
^ Link?
look up sundance balloon rides on google, bought it for my gf for her birthday. rides are early in the morning or about 6 at night. weather permitting. rides are about a hour long and it costs about 200 a person.
They did the same thing to me as well. I was put off so long that the tickets expired and the bastards wouldn't refund my money. But I guess I knew that when I bought the tickets as they were non-refundalbe.. still a load ofOriginally posted by MudCrawler

Oh okay... I thought you were trying to say that you could tell just by looking out your window that the winds aloft that day were suitable for ballooning, better than the company/pilot was able to. But I guess not so nevermind
What i meant Lanks (may i call you Dick?), is that there were many other balloons going out on those days. Unfortunatly it was the company, and not the weather that ended up pushing me around. But thanks for your curiousity.Originally posted by Lanks
