We use ADT for all of our properties. Never had a problem with them. ADT is currently monitoring 5 personal properties for us, 2 of which are in the US and my dad's 5 business in Canada.

There is definitely cheaper security systems and monitoring companies out there, I find some comfort knowing ADT is such a large and well known company.

I'd go for that one that has the two way messaging system. They are able to talk to the people inside the house and send help according to the problem.

Another option is to just get the alarm installed and forget the monitoring. Most security companies have very poor response times and will not get there early enough. Having a siren and flashing lights is a good deterrent.

ADT is a good alarm company... you can save more if you have buy the alarm yourself and just pay for the monitoring

My parents had ADT on all the houses they've lived in and my Old Man's office. The one time where there was a break in, they were caught at the end of the alley in their van by the police.

To be honest I have never heard of it, until now.

I think alarms are useless. Sure they'll notify help, but by the time help arrives, it'll be too late.

Just try not to keep too many valuables at home.

yea, true that, keep your house empty, use a Safe and Safety Box, go there when you need to dress up, get valuables.

They're pretty good deterrents though they are terribly loud when set off. My dad has United and they suck, ADT would be the best choice.

I worked as an Emergency Dispatch Operator for ADT for a couple years, and we definately have to be on our game 100% of the time. The training itself was 4 weeks plus a week of "buddying" up before you get to handle an actual alarm. We had minimal complaints, and from what I remember, the authorities put ADT alarms as a priority due to its low error rate. Besides, if its good enough for the Prime Minister's house, its good enough for you.
