The service doesn't buy the Hummers, they are donated by corporate sponsors (now that's a whole different ball of wax) and used only by the recruiting department.

A fully fitted Crown Vic costs near $45,000, so the chargers aren't any more exspensive.

There was a WRX/STI cop car in BC, old pics though. Magnum makes more sense for a cop car than the charger, but anything has got to be better than vic/caprices.
