    Default 3rd year elec. eng. @ UofC

    what to expect? im a transfer student.. you guys have mandatory tutorials???

    im takin enel 441, 471,353. and encm415..

    i hear encm415 is brutal.. and enel 353 is a gpa booster.. whats the deal with the other two?

    441 is easy up until the final. 471 is just way over everyone's head the entire semester. Work hard and you're guaranteed B's in those courses.

    ENCM 415 labs are pretty brutal I hear. You guys get to play with the black fin boards with Symth, which is pretty anal I hear.

    ya those labs for 415 are crazy
    and take long to do
    be prepared to start coming in every weekend to work on them..

    but if ur only taking 4 courses its not that bad
    i think most other people are taking 5 with 5 labs

    441 final was killer
    everything up to it was okay..

    I didn't think 415 was that bad. Smith was kind of erratic in the way he taught and alot of the material is really tedious, but overall if you just pay attention in class and go to the labs it should be an easy B.

    I found 3rd and 4th year to be the easiest years since you actually take what you like. I had less time to study since I was working a LOT during those years. And I still came out with great grades. I find you learn a lot faster and easier when it's the courses that interest you.
