I was driving home today from 4th Ave Downtown and crossing the bridge to get to Memorial when I saw 2 cop cars behind me with flashing lights. I assumed they were passing me so I changed over into the slow lane to let them pass but they didn't pass me. I then clued in that they wanted to pull me over but since there was nowhere to pull over on the bridge I was going to drive a little further. However, the cops used their speaker and told me to stop right where I was and 3 cops got out of 2 cop cars and started walking towards me.
One of them asked me for my drivers, registration, and license while the other two were standing there looking at my car and pointing at things to each other. They were all really nice to me and one explained that I had run a red light, and he could understand I just wanted to go home so this served as a warning. Then the other two cops said, "What's the retail on one of those if you don't mind me asking?" "Is this a convertible? Does the top go down?" So there I was in a 2 lane road holding up one lane in the middle of rush hour demonstrating to the cops how the top folds down in my car since they had never seen something like that. Judging by their mood and their expressions I think they were just using the red light thing as an excuse to pull me over and demonstrate the top for them. Nothing like that has ever happened to me before!
