    Default Colourvision Spyder

Does anyone have one of these things?

    Spyder

I've got 2 badly calibrated monitors and can't afford to buy one of these things. But if someone has one and might be willing to lend it to me I would greatly appreciate it.

I'm sure we could work something out in terms of repayment. Beer or something like that.

you can look into some alternative calibration software/hardware that isn't so expensive. The pantome Huey has received good reviews, and only costs $100. I have a Pantone Eye 1 that works pretty good, was on sale for $130. the thing with calibration is that you need to recalibrate periodically, I do mine every 3-4 weeks. So it's best to invest if you're serious about it.

lol, thanks Rage. But doesn't really help me much, I guess I'm going to have to stop being lazy and just look.

I was just looking at the Spyder Express, only 1 setting for calibration but has anyone used it and what do they think about it?

You never realise how out of wack your monitors are until you calibrate them. Hurray for SpyderPro 2!

Or you buy a different system and new monitor and the colour is completely different on the 2 of them.

Just looking at the Spyder2 Pro at vistek and they have a nice $60 US rebate until December but it still puts them at about $240 plus tax.

why don't you just get the spyder2? it's less than 200 from the camera store. that's what i'm using.

I picked up the spyder2 but at that price the Huey seems to be pretty good. Yes, it is necessary for every monitor. I thought that mine were calibrated pretty good. As soon as I calibrated them I could see the difference. THe software shows you the difference before and after. Both my LCD's were blue toned and way too dark. Much better after.
