Default Adding tweeters... (no OEM tweeters)

I'm planning to add a set of components to a vehicle. However, it doens't have OEM tweeters. So I'm looking for someone who can assist me on drilling a hole and fitting for the tweeters. Or even do it for me for a price.
I checked audio concept , they want $180 to drill, and do the wiring. I know audio concept does good work, but I can do the wiring myself, just need the drilling and fitting to be done.

    Thanks

If you have a drill, just get a hole saw from Crappy Tire, and make your own holes. Ususally what I do.

^^ But make sure you get a SHARP hole cutter, otherwise you end up tearing the outer fabric. And take your sweet time measuring and remeasuring. Other than that, it's fairly simple; I did mine myself! If you wanna pay me $100, I'll drill and do all the wiring for you!

the wiring is not an issue to me, as i'm pretty confident with the wiring setup.
Its just the drilling thats the concern, i gotta admit that i'm pretty much the worst driller. haha
but when i get my parts and components all picked out and ready, i'll be giving u a msg to see if you wanna help me out later on.

    thx btw!!

wiring is just hooking the positive and negative of your front speakers
unless your deck has a tweeter out on it

If your gonna be willing to pay him $100 bucks to help you out, you might as well just go to soundsaround and get it all done for $75. they did a very nice job on my tweeters.

Actually, unless the tweeters have filter capacitors on them, I would highly recommend NOT just hooking them up like that, or you'll blow them pretty quickly sending a full range signal to them.

Of course, if the tweeters already have a filter cap on them (which it should if they were designed to be added to existing installations), then yes, just hook up positive and negative to your corrent speaker.

Hahaha...I was actually joking about the $100. If and when I'm in town (Thanksgiving and/or Christmas time would be a good bet) and you still need help drilling the holes, pm me and we can arrange something. I think a simple $20 or something will do; it's really not a hard thing, just takes time and patience.

Btw, what year Civic is yours? I've worked on both EG's (well, mine only), and an EK, so I know where to measure and drill.

That is why you're supposed to hook them up to the tweeter out of the deck.

Unfortunately I think they stopped making those in the mid 90's.

    Mine is a EK.
I'm not precise with my one-time only drilling haha... itll take me a few times b4 I can get it dead on... but in this situation, its a one-blow, go-no go situation.

I will keep that in mind. Thanks for your offer.

If you DO do it yourself, make sure to drill MORE THAN ONCE! When I drilled in the past, I marked out on the back of each panel where I wanted the holes to be, making sure they were identical on each. I then drilled a pilot hole where those marks were with a smaller drill bit than the size of the center drill bit of the hole-drill. I then drilled from the BACK side of the panel with the hole-drill, going slowly so as to not rip the fabric on the front, and eventually made the two holes.
