Waiparous.
There is a couple noob guys off calgaryjeep.com talking about going out for a run there on Sunday, should be nice out that day. As stated in the CJA thread(if you look it up) be careful at river crossing as the weather is supposed to be around +15 and has been warm lately. The crossings probably arent as solid as they were last month..
How far to Waiparous?

The village itself is about 45 minutes from McMahon . Continue on another 10-15 minutes till you hit the trails . Be sure to pick up a recent map as most of the old trails are now closed to 4x4ing ( trucks ) , and stick to the trails left open as They ( the off-road Po-Po ) are know to be ticketing those who rebel even way out in the middle of fawk'ole .
As for the river crossings , yeah , be careful . One vehicle at a time and if you are in doubt , get out and grab a long sturdy piece of lumber and walk it first . If you hear rushing water underneath the ice , DON"T DRIVE ON THAT SPOT .
Pack out what you pack in , and don't turn your adventure into a drinking party . Enough shait can go wrong and it's especially critical at this point with the weather that you be extra careful , not to mention it'll be a learning curve thats quite steep if you've nevered off-roaded before .
Have fun and enjoy it while you can
went offroading last night after work...Lot's of fun. Let's get a bunch of people out this weekend.
