Problem with turn signals

I have a 95 vw golf cl
the problem is that when turn the signal on to to the right or left it doesnt work..

but when the car is off and press on the hazard lgihts it works..
but when the car is running the hazard lgihts dont work and the turn signals dont work ..
i just installed a brand new turn signal handle what ever u call it.. the whole part.. i connected it right the wires is perfect and everything..

soo if anone knows what might be wrong with itor atleast have a idea can u shout me a pm or just post here thanx...

i will be takign it in on friday or monday if i cant get it to work by then...

Have you changed the flasher yet? A lot cheaper the the signal switch and more often the problem.

everything else is fine the previouse owner said that the mechanic that look at it said it could have been the handle for the turn siggnal but i just replaced that n still dont work soo he sid if its not that there theres prob a recall .. soo im not sure i gatta get it checked

Flasher relay is one of the most common failure. It is located in the fuse box panel by the drivers side. Check that first
