    Default mp3 phones

    so i just got a new phone wit mp3 abilitys, i put couple of songs on there and everything works fine. but i would like to use the songs that i just transfered from my comp to the phone as ringtones, but it wont let me cuz theres some lock. ive seen ppl doe it before, so does anyone no how to use those songs as ringtones?

    on motorola's they have to be stored on the phone memory not on the microSD memory or whatver, in order to apply as ringer?

    With most of the phones you buy from Rogers directly nowadays (I know for a fact this is true with the Sony Ericssons), they will remove the ability for you to use MP3's as ringtones unless you download and buy the MP3 ringtone from them.

    The only way around this is to change the filmware.

    There is no lock, but there is a size limit on the d807. The phone wont play files as a ring tone over 100kb. Look around on the net and its pretty easy to find MP3 software that will let you hack up files... basically find a 10-15 second chunk of the song you like cut it out drop it on the phones memory and select it as yout ringer.

    the phone needs to be unlocked to set your mp3s and ringtones

    I have a LG-8100 on telus.

    Same question...

    Can I get a Mini SD card and put some tunes on there from my home PC ???

    Or do I have to download their crappy tunes.(Won't happen BTW)
