    Default 7%, 20%, and 35% Tint

Hey guys kind of need some fast replies here. Iam getting my protege sedan tinted tomorrow morning and am thinking of getting 7% on my rear window and quarters, 20% next to that on my rear doors and finally 35% on two front doors and eyebrow.

Has anyone seen such a setup like this. would it look out of place because of so many different percentages on the car?

    Thanks, nik

7% is limo, 20 is dark and 35 is pretty light.

The way i would do it is 20 all rear and 35 front. If not, 35 all would be good too. no need to go all different imo. I have 35 front and back and its not bad. 20 front might be too dark.

I have 35 all around (nothing on windshield, it's too ricey for my car) and it is the perfect amount IMO.

i got 20 on my rears and 54 on the fronts, here's a pic

I think it's nice because the dark rears makes the fronts look a bit darker, and the dark fronts make the back look darker... i wouldn't want any darker on the back, then i wouldn't be able to see out.

On my 4Runner I did 20% all around, including over the factory tint. I think it looks great, its dark, but not too dark

If you have a black interior, I probably wouldn't go darker than 35% on the front windows. On my TL (black on black) I had 20% on the back and 35% on the front. Turned out to be about as dark looking as the 4Runner is.

Why would you choose three different tints? That might not look too great.

Anyways, i have 5% on my coupe (two fronts, two small rears, and back window) and it is insanely black from the outside (especially on a black car). The problem is that i cant see a fucking thing at night except for out of my windshield, and when im turning i have to roll down the window sometimes in low-lit areas just to make sure i wont clip the median or hit a pedestrian.

But, like you said, you wanted 35 in the front which would look good and let you see out at night. I would personally suggest maybe 35 up front and 20 for the side rear and back of the car, or maybe 35/15.

well i got it done. Did Limo rear, 20% quarters and rear doors and 35% front doors, with 20% eyebrow. Came out great. only thing i would change is continue the 20% onto the front doors aswell i find that 35% isnt as dark as i wanted it. Ah well heres a pic for anyone interested in getting theres done with similar percentages.

I did 5% on the rear 3 windows and 25% on the front ( I have troubles with headlights in my mirrors whilst driving so I take the risk of a ticket)

Been driving a car lately with 5% all around, back sides and front windows and it actually isn't as bad as I thought it would be.

I will be doing 7% on my car when I get her back for tranny shop

i did 5 all around, it takes some getting used to at night, but the way it looks from the outside makes up for it

^Looks good twentyfive...how much did that run you?

What the law for front windows....no tint at all, or is a 35% allowed?
I'm thinkin 35 and 20 all around the back.

front windows, you can't legally have any tint, unless its factory tinted or something...but most can get away easily with 35% on the front

Can be as low as 5% as long as its not film. Common misconception is that tint makes it to hard for the police to see into the windows when pulling you over, law dictates that you are to lower your window before the officer arrives at said window so that is out the door.

    Real reason.....safety.
Film prevents side windows from beading (turning into little tiny squares that dont jam through your heart) when in an accident and instead makes the window break into large shards that do what i put in parenthises above. Bottom line is it comes down to a safety issue and an owner cannot drive a car on the road that cannot pass a safety inspection.

This was what was told to me when I fought this ticket last year. Needless to say i lost....horribly.

I thought 4Runners come with a dark factory tint from the B-pillar back.

Check the examples they have there and get them to show you a few customer cars, that's what I did. I ended up with 35% all around, I didn't want to get different percentages. It looks much better with the same on all windows.
