    Default Tire Weights, Inside or Outside?

    Is ther such thing as putting tire weights on the inside of rim rather than the outside? I remember I use to use clip on weights back in my high school mechanics class, but there has to be a has to be a nicer way to balance a wheel these days.

    I just got my winter rims back from crappy tire and the weights were on the outside and they are UGLY! Do any shops around town balance tires differently?

    I always get sticky weights and no shop has ever charged me extra for them.

    CMS did a great job balancing my tires. Tape weights FTW.

    Heh, I wanted them NOT to use tape weights on my winter rims but they did anyway. My worries were unfounded, the weights allowed the rims to still clear the Brembos, so no harm done.

    you can also mount them on the inside of the tire but then you gotta take em off and then rebalance X4 thats not fun, probably costs alot more.

    i have stick on, i think id wring the neck of the shop that puts hammer on lead weights on my rims... make sure you get stick ons, they put them behind the spokes on the rim part.

    RIDES: 94' EH2: Sold, 98' DC4 sold, 93 S13 sold, 93 S14 the lead sled

    Only if they weren't cleaned/applied right

    Summers = Stick On
    winters = personal preferance, I'd just do hammer on cause they are steelies but some people dont like the look

    all my steelies have them on the outside part but my rims even factory acura have them on the inside with stickies

    i guess when you go to get them rebalanced ask for sticky weights.

    My summer rims are stick on ONLY... i'd lose if anyone ever used the hammer on ones on them. My winters... i wanted the sticky ones but when i got them back, there were hammered on on the the inside... oh well, you cant really see it.
