Default Amp question for a Noob.

    Hey all, new here.

Tell me, what kind of juice do i need to run 2 10 Subs. (JLW3) I am just tossing these in to add to the factory stereo and just need to buy an amp that will run them sufficiently. I don't need them shaking the licence plate off.

    ?? Thanks.

If you don't want to shake the licence plate off you shouldn't have bought two 10w3's!!!

You could run them off as little as 100- 150 watts continous. However if you want to get teh most out of them you should run 400 - 500 watss RMS out of them...

yeah, I got a crazy deal on them tho~ I had a Kenwood 300RMS amp running them but seemed a little weak. (besides, I fried that by accident)

Since I'm just running the subs, should I get a good quality amp, or will some Wallmart jensen amp do the trick.

the wattage requirement is completeley dependant on your application, ie the enclosure type and size and the requirements of the sub itself... manufacturer recommended is usually best

Looks like JL recommends between 250-500 for optimum performance. So will a budget amp work?

your better off to buy a good amp that supplys just under the max wateg to get maximum performance out of the speakers. JL's are really good speakers so if you have a good amp to go with them when you go to sell them, if you decide to later, you'll get probrobly more than you paid for them if you got a deal!
