    Default Cold weather start problems.

I know this is asking for it, but winter hit early and I didnt have time to prepare my 300zx for it.

When I tried turning it over the last couple days, it made a loud whirring sound right before crank (fuel pump im guessing), then cranks but the engine doesnt turn over, then when I let go, I hear the whirring again.

I'm thinking frozen fuel lines? Would a block heater solve that problem? Could it be the oil is too cold and hard for the engine to turn over? Could it also be the spark plugs or even the fuel pump itself?

Anyone with any ideas please let me know.

PS- before the cold weather the engine was running absolutely perfectly. I doubt its the plugs as well since the car aced the safety inspection.

cranks but doesnt turn over ?
is your motor turning, starter spinning or is just dead ?

If it doesn't turn then its most likely a week battery, maybe a bad connection. Did you try boosting it ?

Dino oil can get pretty thick in -30 but it wasn't that cold last week. If you run synthetic then it should be even better.

For colder temp oil pan heater would be nice and easy install,

but thats for cold, for -10 you shuld not have to plug in

block heater wont help with freezing fuel lines witch is unlikely a problem in your car as are the plugs

plug in your car and add 2-3 bottles of gas line antifreeze
