Default Anybody know of a company looking for Technical or Desktop Support?

    Hello,

Just wondered if anybody knew of a company who is hiring for Technical or Desktop Support in Calgary? Willing to relocate if the position is what I am looking for.

Got 6+ years of experience with that.

Just finished a contract with a company....

    Thanks.

Nope no certifications yet. I have experience with a lot of Networks but never felt the need for certifications..

Maybe I should at least get A+ and CCNA or something...

I don't have any certs either, I do tech support and repair as a side job. I never looked into actually being an employee somewhere, do they all require certs?

I dont think they all require certs, they usually look for the experience instead.

omagedon, have any experience with Cisco equipment (Configuring/troubleshooting)?

the company i work for maybe hiring, i just put in my 2 weeks so i know they need someone right away. If your interested, pm me and i can send you all the details. You'll be mainly working with all windows servers. Would probably be a lan support II position, also may include software technical support. Not sure exactly what your expriences are, but if you have good knowledge of windows servers (exchange/AD/domain controllers/etc) then you would probably fit the position.

Not all companies require cert's. Most company would rather have people with lots of expriences, cert will help though. But depending on how much knowledge you have will probably also help more. Knowing the terms and procedures for basic operations will also be a great help. Also having good references makes a difference.

Personally, I have heard horror stories from friends who work for Telus and Shaw as IT professionals so I am trying to stay clear from them...

I am working locally with an US company but I don't like to drive too much...I prefer to just work in an office environment LOL.
