RaNt: People who dont show up for purchases

so basically theres a guy on beyond selling a flip out screen that i wanted to pick up, im in edmonton and hes in st. albert, basically a town on the outskirts of north edmonton. i wanted to meet the guy 2moro but he was being a prick about it, saying that i "dicking" around with him by making him wait, so i thought ok fine whatever ill head out and get it now...he says he was gona run to canadian tire and back and he'd b there by the time i got there....i get there in 35minutes, give him a call.

"oh shit, im still at canadian tire, just wait, ill be there in a bit"

k fine...im waiting...

5 mins turns to 10, 10mins into 15, i call back, no answer

so far ive driven 35mins thru shit roads with slick tires, and now ive been idling for 15more mins waiting for his ass to show up. i thought he'd atleast have the decency to stick around if he was really that intent on selling to at that time, but nooOooo the fucker needs to go to canadian tire and take his sweet sweet time...

anyways i decide to say fuck it, im out, its been a little under 20mins of waiting, guy is a no show, i call him back, hes not answering, i leave a message saying im going back home...

5mins later he tries calling, im driving thru shit road conditions, so i dont answer, then he sends me a text message saying he was at the lights right behind me when i was leaving (how he decided that he wasnt going to answer the call when he was right behind me is beyond me, that and he somehow was at the lights a good 5mins after i already left...)

anyways it was a fucking 40min drive back to my place from there

35+20+40=1hr35mins of wasted gas on some impatient prick of a seller on beyond who couldnt even get his shit together and meet me to sell a screen that he was intent on selling to me today

sad part about that is people like that (no show's) affect us all here on beyond. i missed out on a cuple good deals because of them and i keep on seeing it here and there on thease forums. now usually when i ask someone about their stuff for sale they usualy comment on the "usuall beyond member" not showing up...seems like it is becoming a trend or something

it is usually the buyers who do not show up so for this guy to be a seller not show up is just plain idiotic for him self, i mean dont you like money?

That's user rating. I'm talking about tradering rating, that one thing that has a number and it's a link to show up positive/neutral/negative feedback, just like the eBay system.

Just like soupey has 73 positive points, that's the system.

You can leave messages warning others about the seller, or saying the seller is a very reliable seller. Please don't abuse it though.

oh man, i had something similar, i was selling something to a guy on beyond, and i waited for (and driving there took some time too) 45 minutes to sell something for 40 bucks. THe guy gets here, and doesnt have the exact bill, so he goes to the bank and that wastes another 10 minutes, and he comes back and starts to bargain for the price of the item. The thing is OEM SPOILER and its good shape and he was bargaining, and i couldnt say no cause then i would have wasted 45 minutes of waiting for nothing. NEVER DOIN BUSINESS LIKE THAT AGAIN.

Flakers suck, but if you price whatever you're selling in the marketplace correctly, then you should have people lining up to buy and you can just sell to the next guy.
