I saw them at fitness depot last time I was there. They work wonders - especially for chinups.
sport chek and champs also carry them.
heloc that shit
Any idea on prices?
I bought my straps for about $12 about 5 years ago
You can get them at sport check or order online they should be like $15 ish. Use them in moderation though and only when you truily need them otherwise you grip will suffer. Forearms get a decent work out when using grip so don't cheat em too much. I use from dumblell rows, bet rows, deads, v-bar pull downs (not for body weight or weighted chins) and shrugs.

I think these would be awesome for dead lifts. Dead lifts are really good cause you can improve quickly but it is almost imposibble for my grip to keep up, especiall when i got sweaty hands

I heard some gyms don't allow chalk?Originally posted by Darkane
use chalk bro
Yea, I also want to get some straps. Grip is giving out before I can really exhaust my dead lifts.
picked up wrist wraps from bodybuilding.com and got free straps
Chalk is a good idea but it always leaves a mess.
on deadlifts
A lot of gyms don't allow chalk.

chalk is a great thing if youre allowed to use it at your gym. another thing you might want to try if you have weak grip is working your forearms. not alot of people do this because its a pain in the ass. i gurantee if you work your forearms your grip will get stronger. keep the reps for your forearms higher around 15 and up. for some reason you get better results.
Bump. Looking to pick up a pair of lifting straps, any recommendations for a retail store/online or certain brand to get?
Bodybuilding.com and SupplementsCanada.com both stock them I think. They're pretty simple...brands shouldn't matter.
As far as the chalk discussion, I've seen 'Liquid Chalk' for sale now too. I haven't used it myself, but I imagine the intention is to get around gyms that don't allow it.
Also, you shouldn't rely on straps for your lifts. They should just be a tool to help you with you very heavy lifts as you develop forearm strength.
Do farmer walks and such at the end of your workout to really work up that grip.
double post.
I've also have been around guys that use a rosin bag instead of chalk. Leaves no residue behind, great grip improvement, they last a long ass time and are cheap to buy.
I use these:

They're $38 at fitness depot and are an absolute life saver.
While I don't think you should rely on them, I think they're totally necessary on certain workouts like shrugs where it's a huge cunt to grip 120lb+ dumbells.
We stopped checking for monsters under our beds when we realized they were inside us.
Thats what farmers walks are for hahaha.Originally posted by ddduke

If you guys are gonna use straps make sure you fatigue the shit out of your grip for the last exercise and always have day where you dont use them.
Any straps work, if your gym allows chalk definitely use that instead!
