2000 Jetta GLS Mod suggestions

Hey I just picked up a 2000 Jetta GLS. Does any one have any suggestions for mid range mods? I Don't want to go with any thing to extreme.

But the route I would take is a nice suspension set up(Coilovers or spring + strut combo) then move on to better air flow with an intake + exhaust
