Default Need new clutch, what should I get?

Hey guys, just looking for opinions on another new clutch for my 92' teg. I just had a new one put in six months ago (Centerforce dual friction) and it appears it is toast plus it's past the 90 day warranty. I took it to my mechanic down the road....lol he figures it's the pressure plate which seems logical to me by the clunk in the pedal and some sponginess as well. I don't want another Centerforce for obvious reasons, so I was wondering what suggestions everyone may have? My engine is currently stock but will mod or swap in the future that is why I origionally replaced it with the performance clutch. Thanks......

should't go nearly that fast. was it installed properly?

If it was and it is still gone you must drive pretty hard.

How about some driving lessons? Seriously.

I've never heard of anyone wearing down a clutch in 6 months.

Dude it's not worn down......it still holds fine, the pressure plate is where it's at unless it's in the linkage.

You don't necessarily have to go to the dealer to get one, just get an OEM style replacement from the tuner of your choice, or even a place like canadian tire. You'll save a lot of money compared to the dealership.

The centerforces seem to really kick ass for V8's etc, but I have heard nothing but bad reviews on them in 'sport compacts'. A lot of built Neon's have burnt theirs up in 4-12 months as well, and some weren't all THAT built.

Here is the best tip (as someone already said) don't buy genuine Honda. Them's is REAL expensive.

I am looking at $2700 in parts for my clutch. $1500 just for the flywheel (which cannot be re-machined)!

There are a few other manufacturers of OEM style clutches. Clutchmasters makes applications for the legend so they may make one for the Integra, but try Auto Value or Parts Source, they usually have good prices.

Hmmm really....so how much for the clutch kit/install? Either kit. Also, do you work for a shop or would you be doing this personally? PM me or email me if you like.

Being the Western Canadian Distributer for ClutchMasters I would have to recommend them over any other clutch. The stage 3 is steel backed with kevlar versuses that CForce is still using oprganic. ACT stage 3 is still not the same as a CM stage 3. Couple that with a Fidenza Flywheel and you are set for a long time. We install CM clutches in Diesels making 1500 ft/lbs of torque no issues.

I'm taking it in tomorrow (tues) to see exactly what is wrong with it and have it fixed.
