The kid is fucking amazing. I still like Ovechkin a lot more (not a whiney little bitch from time to time, better player IMO), but Sid the Kid w/ 6 points tonight... and the new NHL points leader!

^^There cant be a new great one. Originals can never be overtaken. Points are over inflated, they are less meaningful then before.
i think crosby is a player that will eventually become another great one, he has the skill to. personally i would rather have crosby over ovechkin, crosby is a player that you can build a franchise around
So good and so young. He's still eligible to play in the World Juniors. Can you imagine the type of numbers he would put up there? LOL
Wow this kid is sick!

SID + Malkin = unstoppable.
These guys are unbelievable.
I dont believe he has the smarts to reach the level of the true great one.Originally posted by aznlee

none the less, hes a great player
Crosby was said to be a generational player (from central scouting before he was drafted). Generational players are Gretzky and Lemieux.
Crosby is better than Ovechkin (imo). Both are great players but Crosby makes everyone around him that much better.
The flyers really sucked which helped a lot but none the less hes wicked.

He's the real deal, along with Ovechkin. It's a shame we dont get to see more of him over here in west (or it could be a good thing if you think about it.)
now if the penguins decided to start playing D instead of leaving fleury out to hang all the time, maybe they'd go somewhere in the playoffs.
you mean make it to the playoffs? heheOriginally posted by camby

if anything, back then pts were overinflated, with the increase in the average level of skill (forwards, d-men, and goalies) i doubt the great one in his prime could score >200 pts/season in the current nhlOriginally posted by VW02

that being said, crosby probably won't touch most of gretzky's records, but he will be one of the greatest players of this generation
Crosby's good, no doubt, but I don't like his attitude.
Ovechkin FTW. Malkin's insane too!
I love this goal on Brodeur!
The Penguins/Caps game on Monday was an insane 60 minutes. Next one's on Feb 3rd.
Gonchar racked up 5 points tonight too.
Crosby has skills too!Originally posted by D'z Nutz

I think one of the prettiest goals in the game was Staal's goal right at the end there.
werd staals goal was nice imagine these guys in a few years
he had a good 6 point game but hes only 19 & i have a feeling he will win art ross.
Really? Back in 99's days goals were definately a lot easier to score than they were in the 'old' (definitively the 2000-2004 years) NHL, where there's a shitload of clutching and grabbing, structrued defense, huge goalie pads, the Trap, etc.Originally posted by VW02

I think if you put players like Crosby, Ovechkin or Malkin back in 80's they'd run right over everyone. To the same degree as Gretsky? Up for speculation. But you can't tell me that it was harder to score goals in 80's than it is now.
