The North Face Men's Inconceivable Jacket is the only soft shell with Gore-Tex's Guaranteed to Keep You Dry promise. Where soft shells had formerly offered only wind proofing and extraordinary breath ability, the Inconceivable jacket is fully seam taped and waterproof. The stretch and feel of soft shells has been combined with the legendary protection of three-layer Gore-Tex. The marriage of soft shell and waterproofing is achieved through shaving the inside fleece lining on seams to allow taping and Gore-Tex's new soft shell sandwiched laminate. You still won't want to wear a soft shell if it downpours, but if you're caught when a cloudbursts or the snow starts dumping on an epic backcountry tour you won't have to head back to the car.
