Default help with digital audio output PC -> AV reciever

can't seem to get the digital audio output to work on my PC to my yamaha reciever. on the PC volume control i checked the box "1 Digital Output Only" but still can't get sound to come out of my reciever. i tested the settings on my reciever with my dvd player and everything is properly set so i should get sound of out that input. i figure it's a PC side problem and wondering if anyone has any tips to get this working. i'm using a HP tower that has integrated digital audio output and i have a separate card (SB audigy ZS) for my desktop speakers. also i'm using a coaxial cable to connect the two.

I would imagine the SB card is overriding the onboard sound, if I interpreted your post correctly.

that was one of my theories while trying to get it to work. i'll try to remove the soundcard tomorrow and see how that works out.

I would agree that the SB is causing the onboard sound to be disabled.

go to Control Panel, and go to Audio HQ, then Device Controls. Under Decoder tab, pick SPDIF passthrough.

i updated my drivers and all the creative labs programs are gone and i'm left with creative audio console. under the spdif i/o tab the only selection i get is digital output sampling rate settings of 48/96khz settings. still not working...
