    Default dont know the problem?

i have a 2000 civic si, and my problem is that my car has been havin this problem lately.

my battery meter will start off @ 12v then it gradually drops down to about 9v and some times the car shuts off.

but if i rev the car the battery meter goes up & everthings good.

and i just bought a optama yellow top battery

i have a feeling its my alternator but dont know for sure

oh yea i got a 1200watt rms system on the factory alternator

    could that be my problem?

if its altnator the battery meter wouldn't go up if your reving it

go to crappy tire and test your battery

it can be only 2 things battery or altnator
    battery i am 85% sure

go to candian tire and give them your battery to check they do it for free

1200 watt system doesn't affect the battery if u have resistant wire hooked up the prevent battery draining

boost your car if it dosent start...then once its started unplug your
battery..if the car dies then your alternator is fried..if it stays on
then its most likely your battery not holding a charge like everyone else said
