    Default Window coverings / blinds

Ok, I did a search and found nothing of substance.

Moved into my new place just over a week ago. I have a sofa and a 60" TV. I want to keep the TV so I need to hide it from the prying eyes of passers by.

I have newspaper up right now... but that is so ghetto.

I want nice window coverings that are modern, but I don't want to pay $500 / window.

Any suggestions as to where to look for a good deal?

    easy solution
    goto ikea
    get the double rods
    and get black curtains
    2 sets
one for the front and one for the back
u can change up the colors but get black 4 sure
    trust me works

my wife and i did it for a clinet of hers in applewood

those ppl had like a home movie studio
    so far they love it
and they still have all their stuff
    last i checked
and the best thing is no one can see in

costs like $100 per window max.. maybe less

Ikea curtains FTW... we have so many sets of them in my house... they are relatively inexpensive, and look pretty good.

Depending on how tall your windows are you can get the standard roll down blinds for very little money. Less then a $100/window.

check out HomeDepot, that is where I got quotes from. I'm doing 2" full wood blinds downstairs, and 1" aluminum blinds for the upstairs. I belive they were Hampton Bay custom blinds, for the whole house it was around $1,100 or so. They also have sales like 15% off most of the time.

I haven't dealt with smaller companies, but I will be checking out the home show tomorrow to see what they have.

I'm also interested in this, since I have nothing covering our windows. We don't have anything worth stealing, but I dont want our neighbors seeing how messy our house is.

Instead of newspaper, I went with slightly more pricey aluminum foil treatments on our windows. Most have been ripped apart, but I keep reapplying them to the window in our bedroom so the workers building the house across the street can't see my wife's tits when she comes out of the shower.

I have 4 windows upstairs, and 5 windows downstairs. Size wise it is a 1200 sqft. townhouse. HomeDepot has the 15-25% off sales now and again, just keep an eye out for them in the store.

Just checked out HomeDepot, they have 15% off blinds from Hampton Bay. I think also Hunter Douglas.
