Has anyone successfully done this or know where I can get some info??
I've got a copy of really rare Japanese CDs I want to rip and copy so I don't have to use the original CD to listen to.

Damn +44411's
what method of copy protection is used?
Use a DVD-Rom and your favorite ripping program. For some odd reason, DVD-Roms bypass the protection. I hate the cd protection, cuz it doesn't play on one of my car decks, so I have to rip and burn to listen to shit that I pay for.

take a black marker and draw a line on the OUTER edge of the cd...all the way around on the VERY edge. I have done this many times before and it works most of the time
Ah for fawk sake. I got knocked in the head tonight. This is what I meant. Not the ring around the side...Originally posted by nismodrifter

Let me edit...
Thanks rage2.
Not that I plan on using a marker on my CDs, but why does using a marker work??

probably cause it covers the section where the copy protection data is.

Yeah I've tried this before on a BoA remix CD. It works but I think it's bad for your DVD rom. When I did it, my DVD-Rom was soo freaking loud, and took longer to rip than a normal CD.Originally posted by rage2
