    Default WTB: Long Ethernet Cable

Anybody know where I can get 50 to 100 ft of ethernet cable relatively cheap?
FS has 50' available for $35.99... but was hoping to spend less than that.. can anybody help me out?

    Thanks

    Make your own
You can buy cat5 at home depot and the connectors at an electronics shop

Might not save you a whole lot but it will be cheaper.

One of these might do the trick

    Code:
    http://memxit.com/index.php?PageTag=&page=searchproduct&SID=
    Search for "Ethernet Cable"

I have alot of cable (Cat5e) left from a project I did. I can make you a 100 foot one for 20 bucks if you stop by my place (Varsity) and pick it up.

30$, based on the price I gave earlier.

I probably only have about 210 feet assuming my calculation of counting the number of rounds x the circumference is correct, might be a bit more or a bit less.

The Source by Circuit City has some cat6 on clearance, 100 feet, $9.99 http://www.thesourcecc.com/estore/Pr...roduct=2608056

You will have to click the find-it-in-store link to check for stock.

Just because the roll is 1000ft doesn't mean you can put connectors on both ends and it will work.
100m is the max cable length for 10BaseT and up.
If you use a quality cable you may be able to go further, but no where close to 1000ft.

Thanks for the replies guys. I jumped the gun and settled on a 100 ft cable at memory express for 25 bux. (I was eager to hook my xbox 360 up to xbox live tonight...)

shoulda waited and I woulda read exo's post about the 9.99 for 100 ft. Oh well.

What's the diff between Cat 5/ Cat 5e/ Cat 6 anyways?

    I got the 5e stuff...

    Yep 300Ft max...

I had that problem on a Job I just did in Drayton Valley.

Needed an Ethernet link about 2000 feet away from the switch.

    Ended up using fibre....

    Pretty cool stuff.
