Default need help. short term investment

So I sold my laptop, got that cash but dont want to buy one until this semester is over with.

I was thinking a PC savings account if I cant find anywhere to put it soon, but
Where would you put about $1500 as a short term investment, med risk max if applicable?

Put it in PC while you figure out what to do with it. 4% on $1500 isn't much but it's something.

I'd buy mutual funds. At least those are semi-liquid and will probably return better than 4%.

Most mutuals will eat into your gain with the fees (especially since you're only playing with $1500). I'd say find an income trust or two. They've all been beat up like crazy since Oct 31. Some of the yields are well into double digits. And depending which trust, your distributions might not even 100% taxable. Do your due diligence before jumping headfirst. If you need this money for sure, reduce your risk you take.

How short are we talking? Dont do Mutual Funds if its a short term investment.

4 months is very short. I don't see any big gains in that period of time unless you are willing to risk it. Put it in your rrsp and get it tax deducted?

Yeah the PC account is probably best with some of the mut funds you'll probably get hurt more than helped with admin fees on a small dollar value, short term investment.
