Hopefully it wont be a flop like the GTO.
It's an awesome car.

I am impressed what Holden can do, not a huge fan of the wheels or the hood scoop, but overall I am a fan
very true... it is a great car, especially if you look at the discounts they're offering in the states right now. One of the best bangs for your buck.Originally posted by Xtrema

Not sure what the whistling and ticking is. Maybe the chase car was an 03+ Cobra. :p
93 Camaro Z28 (The fast one)
01 Trans Am WS6 (The cute one)
Esla T6 Dog Sled (Not cute, not fast, scary as hell)
wow that screams mazdaspeed 6 to me.....but even at that, for pontiac, that's sweet!
Personally I really like it. Minus the wheels and the hoodscoops.
Can someone photoshop some BBS LM's on there, I think they'd look sweet
Ultracrepidarian
I like every bit of it. I am indifferent to the hood scoops, but I think everything else including the wheels is nice.
How many of you guys talking about GM's lack of quality have driven a newer GM?
I like the car but the ugly wheels remind me of these acura wheels: http://www.acura.com/assets/acura/ca...arl_R-528P.jpg

The new Saturn Astra is a good looking car. Maybe we will get a VXR version here..Originally posted by Vagabond142
I am very scared to be saying this... but I think GM is on the right track o_O FINALLY sourcing cars from overseas. Sure, the Astra may be boring, but it's the right segment at the right time. The Holden Commodore, tho... I love Holdens

I dont like Pontiac's but this G8 looks nice, I think GM did a good job this time.
Latest pre-production pics and info
More pics here (interior shots, etc.):http://www.gminsidenews.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=53724It's a pre-production model of the Pontiac G8 GT, which debuted in concept form at the Chicago auto show this past February. Gone are the avant garde billet wheels, in favor of more workaday split five-spokes. Last we heard the showroom version will cost in the low to mid $30,000s and be powered by 6.0-liter V8, producing 362 hp and 391 lb-ft of torque, sport a limited-slip diff and get from zero to 60 in 5.5 seconds. Of course, a six-speed will be offered too
So basically they took the 6 L out of the 2500 HD and put it into a car. Other than the fact it will be a pig on gas it will be quick IMO.
Actually its the 6.0L LS2, but thanks for coming out.Originally posted by MackDawg

I'd D-Badge it, black out the grills and give it a drop. Will kick the crap out of a 3 series turbo charged BMW with nearly 400 ft/lbs in the RDW V8 config....nice car.
Actually it's the 6.0L L76, so maybe you should just fucking quit.Originally posted by CSVT

Those shots under the hood look great. I'm really really happy for GM, its been WAY too long before they started making cars people WANTED. Only a huge loss in market share and a possible crash landing into bankruptcy court did it take to finally get them to get their frickin' shit together. Ford too is really coming along with their reliability tied with Toyota according to recent reports from JDpowers.
I really hope this car can come with different rim options though, those are pretty nasty. (I'm sure they will though, they'd be stupid not to)

^ I think we have a winner. I'm quite happy that they have an optional 3.6L 261hp V6 instead of the gas-pig 6.0
I'd be quite happy with just the V6, as 261 is still lots. But they said the price tag is from the early to mid $30k range.
Good on ya' GM, keep the good work
