Out of the many women I dated on Lavalife, most were young professionals, with their own careers and ambitions, who were looking for companions that were far above your caliber.

They weren't into the bar/club scene. They were well past school. Most of their friends were getting married, or were in stable relationships already. They'd outgrown their partyboy stage of dating anything with a heartbeat. (thats you btw). Often, they already owned their own homes, or were saving for one. They did own their own cars. They enjoyed fine wines, quality meals, and intelligent conversation. (more than, hey, my car has a JDM body and a glasspack exhaust).

To meet them? I had to write up a bio, post a couple of pictures, and spend a few dollars buying points in order to be able to send them a message, and hold an online conversation with them. I had to be able to impress them enough with my conversational and written skills to set up a face to face meeting.

On their side, they had to be able to impress me. I wasn't looking for eyecandy alone, I wanted a secure woman with a mind to back it up. I wasn't looking for a club girl that was all about clothes, partying, or bling.. in short, no Pars Hilton for me. In the end.. I got an attractive woman with a mind that shared my interests, had some of her own, and was willing to try out some of mine... in short, a best friend, a lover, a wife, and soon to be a mother to my children.

I guess I was one of those hurtin people online eh? And now? Well.. I'm married to my attractive wife a year and a half now, planning a family, with a dog, my own house, a nice car, a career that I love and well, I'm living the dream.

For you, I wish you luck with your little clubhopping life, getting drunk and laying the barwhores who'll only go home with you after putting on sufficient beergoggles. Or your nice cyberstalking on nextopia or whatever other teenybopper site you visit. Perhaps one day you'll grow up and tire of that lifestyle too, and start looking for someone to build a family with.
