Default Need help installing Hids - crx - 95 Eg wiring

Need help on trying to install my His in my 95 civic

    K heres the problem:

Ballasts are for a 2h gen crx 88-91(wires, red and black )

    Eg civic has 3 ( 2 red and 1 black )

Anyone know what wires are what on the civic? Or what they are for? I've been trying to mix/match, no good.

I thought it was the hid kit, but i tried it on my crx and works perfectly!!

NEED HELP!! let me know if you guys can direct me to like a site which describes the wiring or anything.

    thanks guys!

Connect the black to the black! Then with the red wire from the ballast....first connect it to one of the two red wires....then turn on your lights! If they don't turn on, then try the other red wire! If neither goes on, then check your fuse. You just gotta play around with it!

Cuz for the EG Civics....that third extra wire is used for day time lights and high beams!

I thought they were the following as i read them on the net somewhere:

    black - ground
red with white line - low beam
red with blue line - high beam

I used the black properly, and the red with white line and hooked up to the red of the ballast part, --- still nothing - checked the fuses, it WAS blown, but i replaced it, and still nothing????

i'll try to look up hidplanet, but i dont understand why its not turning on??

    any other help thanks!!

Maybe you blew the fuse again. I'd go give it another look.

Is it a moving kit or a low HID with a (halogen)flashtopass on the side.

Sometimes manufacturers used switched ground leads so you may have it backwards. Either way, check the factory service wiring diagrams very carefully.

well the kit came off of a crx - so Low beam only.

if the ballast came in a low beam ONLY kit, is that the reason why it doesnt work ony my low/high beam headlight on my other car?

    civic high/low singal bulb wireing

    RED/GREEN : Left, HIGH BEAM
    RED/YELLOW : Left, LOW BEAM
    BLACK : GROUND

    RED/WHITE: Right, LOW BEAM
    RED/BLUE: Right, HIGH BEAM
    BLACK: GROUND

    wheres the ignitor??

The balast should have 2 mains comming out, one set goes to the ignitor which inturn connects to HID bulb, the other should go to the cars factor harness to power the whole thing. Unless the ignitor is built in.

Also make sure your using the low beam wires if you have i 4-bulb system.

If you have running lights they must be disconnected (pull the fuse) the running lights fuck up the system(unless HI/LOW kit), only if you have them.

I believe this is how it is set up. If i made a mistake i apologise, hope it all works out.

I'm pretty sure the ignitor is external as ther are two blocks that are on each side of the Hids.

Ok so i tried removing the fuses for the running day lights and also removed the running day light relay fuses.

Tried to power them on - --- - -- Nothing still..

Wtf is the problem here?? Im going NUTS!! I want my HIDS TO WORK!!!

    Anything else I can try?

I would take a good look at the two wires going right to the harness plug that goes right to the bulb itself, you may simply just have to switch the position of a couple wires.

I reused an HID fit from another car that ran H1 bulbs to put into my RSX. At 1st they weren't working either, but i realized that for my car, one of the pins inside the main prone to the existing harness had to be popped out and move into a different postion and poof, i had power!

are you talking about the wires on the Hid kit itself? or are you talking about the wires that are on the car for the headlight?

    Fixed It Guys!!

For anyone that needs to solve this problem...

Switch the negative and positibe wires from the headlights to the ballast.

Apparently it needs some kind of "reverse" polarization.
Got the tip from CMS. Thanks for the help!

haven't figured out the daytime running light though?? Anyone?
