Speedo/Odometer not working. CEL too!

So I was driving tonight with no problems (about 170kms), and then it was sitting for about an hour. When I went back out to it to start it, it started fine, ran fine, but the speedo was only reading 0km/hr and the odometer wasn't moving at all.

I drove my friend home and after about 5km of driving, my CEL came on. So I pulled over and turned my car off. Turned it back on immediately and started to drive again. The CEL didn't come back on the entire way home, and the speedo didn't work at first, until suddenly it started working. It "jumped" a bit (dropping down to 0km/hr once or twice), but then worked fine for the rest of the way home.

Any ideas what this might be?

Not yet, it just happened last night. But yeah, it sounds like it might be the speed sensor pulser. Gonna have a look today.
