Calgary Auto Show

Thought I would make a thread for this, seems like there has been no mention of this on here which is odd, just wondering who's all going?, I'll be there, looking forward to it as its my first time taking pics of nice cars with my Digital SLR.

Anybody know what cars are gonna be there, apart from the usual?, would be nice if they brought in a Veyron.

+1 for attending. No only to check out the new vehicles but to get a chance to practice geting some pics with the camera

I will be there, also using my new DSLR, try go get good pictures compared to last year.

This year trying out the new sony cybershot and panasonic lumix i got for xmas

Unless you have a F2.8 lens or lower, plan on bringing your tripod or shooting with flash. It is usually dark enough that you are shooting at least ISO800 @ F2.8 to get a decent shutter speed to hand hold. That equals somewhat grainy photos.

Chances are that most of your photos will be soft or out of focus. It is a tough place to shoot... that is unless they change the lighting this year. I stopped bringing my camera years ago as people always get in the way too... haha.

Thanks for the heads up, I was thinking of bringing my tripod, but its just such a pain, but from the sounds of it, it will be needed.

i didnt find it so bad up in edmonton, i hope they use the same lighting up here. either that or i have steady hands.

I go there early in the morning on the firstday or usually the last day a couple hours before its over. never had problems taking pics at those times

Saturday is going to have massive amounts of people, I'm not sure that bringing a tripod is worth it during busy times.
I'll be there for sure with my new D80
