well, I'm pretty sure that you can't legally showcase pictures of a minor without permission. hence why the pictures were blurred in the paper, etc.

I think you're allowed to show a photo of a minor. I think under the young offenders act, you're not allowed to post a photo of a minor accused in a crime, nor mention his name.

I think it's probably a bit of a grey area if the photo was posted before the accused was charged.

I also agree that hit and run sucks, and it's happened to me, but the kid's already going through hell right now. I've never done a hit and run, but I've done some stupid stuff in my time, especially when I was 17. I'm glad the media or a large car forum never caught hold of it.

Let's have our laughs but lay off harassing and threatening the guy. The law will take care of him. Let's showcase beyond.ca on the world stage as a classy intelligent forum.

Good god. Every once in a while, there's a thread on a forum that just gets linked to EVERYWHERE. Congrats, beyond.ca, on having the next one of those threads. I sure as heck wish that somebody'd taken pictures when I got hit, and I hope that if it ever happens again, somebody will be there to snap them. I know I'm carrying a cheap digicam in my car from now on.
