    Default Legit Honda mechanic? Suggestions?

Need timing belt and new alternator plus belt on wife's 2012 Odyssey. Any independent Honda shops that are reccomended?

T&T dealership has seemed mostly straightforward in the past, but would love to save a few bucks on this. Quote for timing belt alone was $1800, and suspect the alternator is another $600 at least.

I see Hu's garage mentioned in previous threads, so I'll put them on the list.

Steve at VS One or Jackie at Balance Auto Garage. Both know Honda’s.

Hu's Garage man. I'm sure there are other places but Ryan and Steve (son and dad) are great. I use them anytime I have a Honda to service.

+10 for balance auto. Jackie’s great.

Another that hasn’t been mentioned is Paz auto; idk if they’re still around, but used to be great value and Honda specialist.

I'm getting the alternator replaced by a friend, one of beyonds legit car guys. Don't have the timing belt quoted out yet.
B&F Electric was best price for the alternator itself though, by far.

    Cool

Alternator looks easy enough, pretty sure i'd be able to get that myself

I've done 2 Honda timing chains on K20 engines, but never done a V6 belt and with this being the only car, I can't afford to fuck about and take my time with it like I did with my project cars lol

We replaced the alternator on our 2011 Odyssey at Honda a few months ago. It was expensive for parts alone. -$700 for a reman one vs $100 more for a new off brand one.
Might give Hu’s a call cuz the other day they said we need plugs, valve adjustment and there is a TB / tensioner leak. TB was done at 100k and now it’s at 160k. $690, $425, and $1,182!

Extra slow this would be TB change number two for you?

Is it bad that I'm not sure if this is timing belt #1 or #2? I know I'm overdue not early, that's for sure.
