Hated pulling the engine in my s2. Glad I did it on a hoist. If i did it on the ground I probably would have just burnt my car down.

I'm doing it on jackstands in my best friends garage. I'm probably 8 hours in including actually cleaning his garage so I could move around (it was literally awful, I dumped three large garbage cans of crap out of there). I have the engine hoist hooked up and supporting the engine now so next step is lower that damn pesky subframe so I can get the top bellhousing bolts. Then it's off with the last engine mount and a couple small things and hopefully the engine is out before I do what Errol. suggested he would do if he had done his on the ground like I am...
is all this just to get at the clutch or are you monkeying around with other stuff while youre in there?
This is just for the clutch and anything else I find while I am in there.
Has anyone used the spoon sports subframe collars or similar on their S? I'm debating picking up a set for when I finally dig in there to do my clutch (hopefully not on jackstands)
You still haven't done your clutch yet? That thing should have been changed like 2 years ago!!Originally posted by v2kai

Getting real close to burning this fucker down.

Subframe won't come down evenly, keeps getting cocked and hanging up no matter what we try.
Strange ... we loosened all the bolts probably an inch or so and then just let the rear ones down the 3" + that was required ... no problem. Was something else snagging? Wires, throttle body (think we had to remove the cam sensor or something on top as per the Honda shop manual) ...

are you using the HOnda shop manual? if not I have one you can borrow for this.
I think we are trying to lower the subframe all wrong. We should have supported it, dropped the bolts then lowered the frame smoothly rather then not letting the bolts down all the way and doing it bit by bit.Originally posted by reijo

Anyone have a stock AP2 exhaust or even AP1 exhaust they want to sell? I mostly just want the flange/resonator portion, and not the actual mufflers themselves.

There is an AP1 in front of my condo that is RHD, would like to chat with the guy.
Having driven a AP1 before I've always wanted to get one, wonder what the pricing is like for a RHD one nowadays.
Not far off from LHD prices. No savings IMO.

I hear ya about the kid thing! I thought this was directed at me!! Congrats but yeah, my car is in the shop again getting the turbo replaced with a ball bearing and it sucks but being preoccupied with the kid takes my mind away from it.Originally posted by v2kai

Might as well just shop around for a LHD model. I've owned a few RHD vehicles and some insurance companies I talked to wouldn't put full coverage on them because they were RHD lol.Originally posted by LilDrunkenSmurf

After spending another couple hours on my car we've decided to give up and put it back together. If the clutch gives up I'll tow it to a shop and let them deal with this because doing this engine pull on jack stands is just the worst thing I've ever attempted on a car. Literally every hose clamp, hose, bolt and nut is fighting me...
I have a buddy club mid pipe somewhere ill sell cheap.Originally posted by LilDrunkenSmurf
