    Default What voids a ticket?

Just wondering what mistakes a cop can make on a ticket that would void it?

Just got 2 tickets today, havent really had the time to look at them but I do know he at least spelled my name wrong. Would that void a ticket?

I had a cop forget to put in AB for the province and it voided it. Everything else was there, CALGARY was there, my address, just not the AB.

If you look in the history of beyond this same question has been asked a alot of times.

Sorry to put it this way but here's a thought if you didn't do the crime fight it, if you did do the crime well who really cares if your name is spelled wrong, pay up and be a man.

    Search?

THE COPS HAS THE CHANCE TO CHANGE ANY INFO ABOVE THE LINE WITHIN 6 MONTHS OF ISSUSING THE TICKET. IF HE WANTS TO BE A REALLY BIG ASS AND THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH YOUR TICKET THEN HE CAN CHANGE IT AND YOUR STILL SOL.

I got one for doing 77 in a 50, and one for not wearing my seat belt. My last name was mis spelled on both of the tickets.

im a part time worker and if i dinged for a couple of tickets, id learn my lesson but if i could get off paying the fine i would get it taken off. Just get them voided, don't pay the fines but learn your lesson.
I just got a 120$ ticket for having my front windows tinted. Im gonna pay it, and get the tint taken off now. Learned my lesson. lol

    easy there champ.
There's people out there (^^) who define "stepping up, and being a man" by paying their tickets. Rightfully so, you're accepting responsibility. On the other hand, no matter how much money I make, you'll never see me pay for something i don't have to (can get away without paying - within reason ).

    ^^^^^

totally agree.... the government of alberta is lost without ralph klein so why pay hard earned money towards it??

sure health care, and many different benefits are great.... but i personally would never pay money to someone i really dont know unless i was absolutely forced too...

come on, If the ticket wasnt void I would have to "step up" and pay it no matter what I thought. I never once said I didnt deserve the tickets.

Real money is making more in the time you'd miss at work than it does to take a afternoon or day off fighting it in court.

Id rather be at work and be productive and make money rather than squable about an officer forgetting to put an "e" at the end of my name or some garbage like that.

    But hey, thats just me

Also if you want to "get out" of a ticket, dont break the law... thats probably the best way

I dont know about you but I'm making a little less than 75 dollars an hour.

Time spent at the JP's = 1.5 hours
    Money saved = 100-200 dollars
