Beyond Golf!!!

So it seems to be a lot of golf clubs going for sale on beyond these days...
i had this wicked idea!!!
when it gets better out of course all get together and go golfing...i dont know about you guys/gals but golf with a couple beer is fun

im down, as long as it is on a weekend, i bought new clubs last year, used them a bit, gonna spend half my summer on the course this year

I golf at least once a week once the season starts and typically alone because it's hard to find a reliable group of guys that want to play.

I typically play Sunday mornings EARLY... yes I am serious about golf, but I am not a serious golfer.

occasionally I'll play during the week or on a Saturday, but if anyone wants to play PM me anytime and we can hook up for some beyond play!!!

Im actually learning how to play golf this year.

Does anybody have a rough estimate how much a set of beginner clubs would cost me

^depends on the quality you would like. Heck, you can get a set for $100. My recommendation is to find a style of club you like ie. steel vs. graphite shafts, bladed vs. non-bladed head...etc From there you can narrow down a more better suited club to your needs.....

If you're starting out and really want to play this sport, I'd recommend getting some decent clubs and thus spending a little extra coin. Used sets might be the way to go......

You can buy my old set off of me, as i just got new sticks last year. $150 for the lot. That includes Right hand Ram LX irons: 3,4,5,6,7,8,9, PW, Wilson 425cc Driver w/ graffite shaft, 3W, 7W, and a stand bag.

I'm of course down. Chris, we never did get a round in last year.

My only stipulation is I need to get all my rounds in probably before Canada Day... by then my belly will be too big to swing a club!

I already booked a few times out at Kananaskis. Also, my Annual Golf Vacation out to Panorama. I'm pumped... 3 rounds in 3 days out there -- Fairmont Mountainside, Eagle Ranch, and Greywolf.

But anyhoo, we should just go to a city course or something, like maybe Shaganappi on a Saturday morning (around 9 or 10)?

Oh and if anyone's up for it, I do plan on playing Heritage Pointe before my belly gets too big. I go out there every Sunday to the practice facility and end up playing once or twice.... not sure if anyone would be into that course. It's pretty expensive.

And Wayne, if you want, I can give you a set of clubs and a crappo bag for like $50 if you're interested. It's the set my brother and I both started out with and now he's a Pro so he gets free clubs... lol. MSN me.

Is there a cap on how well we must play?! The best I've played is only about 110... If that's not an issue, then I'm in!

As for location, any local, public course works for me. Otherwise, the Kananaskis resorts are amazing to play at when it's not raining like it did for 90% of my one game there last year. Kinda expensive too...

Im down. I work at Earl Grey golf course. lil shwanky but i can swing some things around and get some tee-times for free most likly. Its a nice course, not to hard either, except for the big lakes in the middle of the fair ways right now, ( thank you snow )

Greywolf is one of my favorite courses, unfortunately i probably won't make it out that far this year.

Leah when did you get your times for Kana? I called like 3 weeks ago and could only get after 3/4pm so I've gotta hold off to see if they have any cancellations.

I tried to get through for a full week straight when they opened their phone lines at the end of Feb. All of my tee times are around 3, but I figured it was better than nothin! Still plenty of sun to finish the round.
