Theres a light that warns you when your low on gas, when your insurance needs to be renew they send a mail out, same with car registration. So it would only make sense that a mail would be mailed out when your licenses is about to expire.

Depending on when your licenses was expired, If it was recent in my opinion the cop should have gave you a warning. But usually the cop treats you differently depending on your age/sex/ethnicity. Being polite to the cop will make very little difference.

Someone should pass a law that for any first time offense, you get a warning. That goes on the system, and if you get pulled over for the same thing again, you get a ticket.... should reset every 2 years like demerits.

My License expires in one week which is also my birthday. I Did get a reminder notice in the mail around 2 weeks ago reminding me it was expiring. Not sure why you didn't get a notice but they do send them out.
