My luck is better and better...

So 3 weeks ago, I was in my truck turning left off of 17th Ave, and some punk 16 year old kid in a red DSM runs the red light and t-bones me. He says it was green, of course. He only had insurance on the car for 3 days before it was written off lol! Caused $6K in damage (bent the frame) on my '04 F-150. Can't say too much more about the accident, cause this kid claims I'm at fault, even though he ran the light, and I'm pursuing legal action at the moment, so in case he's on the forum I don't want to say anything, it's pending a decision at the moment.

Anyways, got the truck outta the body shop on Thursday, and I come out of my g/f's this morning (she lives less than a block from where the accident happened incidentally) and someone keyed the truck. Fender is an easy fix, but the front and rear doors need paint work. I'll post pics later.

Just wanted to vent. Can't wait to get my summer car back on the road. This truck seems like a magnet for disaster...

Pretty good chance. It's a big bright yellow fucken truck! How it got hit in the first place is still a mystery to me... It's almost impossible to miss.

Anyways, like I said, I don't wanna say too much (reasons are obvious) but they have the evidence in hand and will be making a ruling as to who's at fault next week hopefully. I want to get this over with.

Thanks for the support man, but we'll see what happens when the dust settles. If he's found at fault though, his ins. will be insane. He had ins. for 3 days before he hit me, and his car was written off. It was a plymouth Laser. I checked, and even IF he had collision, they go by black book value, so he'd only get $800 for the car. His 8" mufler tip and Ractive windshield sticker probably cost half that.

So, providing it was only PL/PD, he'd probably have a $1000 deductable, and if he's charged with running the light, that's MAD points on his GDL licence, so I doubt he'll drive for much longer. Unless daddy buys him a new car right away...

Of course, at this point, this is all heresay. I can't stress enough that I don't wanna divulge any details at this point. Hope you guys understand, but I've seen cases of forum posts being used against people, so I want to be careful.

Sorry, but you are screwed. Left turn is always at fault unless you have an advance green. Even if you somehow prove it was red, you both ran it and since you were turning left, you trump him. Unless there's additional details being left out of course.

If he was turning left on a green (only reason to be turning left, obviously) and the kid ran a red and smoked him, I don't think he'd be at fault.

I think this calls for an MSPaint drawing of the intersection.
